The photograph that reveals all

I am new to this, and this is infact the first forum that I have ever joined. I am hoping to meet some people similar to me with the same health worries and ultimately trying to achieve a reasonably acceptable body.

I have just looked at an awful picture of me taken when camping. My legs look like a giant sausages, my stomach is bulging and I have so many chins my face looks squashed. This was just the motivational tool I needed. I have decided today is a day for big changes. I must admit I am feeling unhealthy at the momment but I just don't really know where to start. My friends and family are all effortlessly beautiful and slim, whereas I look at a cake and my stomach blows up!

So please help me chaps. Any words of encouragement? Any top tips for starting out and setting goals that I can realistically acheive? Overall I think I would like to lose 6 stone, which seems an impossible task, a mountain to climb with me an ant wearing completely inappropraite shoes.....arghhh.....I hope this gets easier.

I love food so much!

I think you're off to a great start. The idea is to first find out WHY you want to lose weight. Once you know that, the HOW will follow.

Next is to just take on step at a time. Don't drastically change what you eat or start doing something crazy because it may not last. Start with small changes. Stop eating a few things here and there and start doing a few exercises as well.

Also start getting support from people going through the same challenges as yourself.

Also accept that weight loss can be long journey and not over night. It took me about a year to lose 50lbs but it was well worth the work. Just remember that it took a few or several years to gain weight so it's not going away right away.

Good Luck and Feel Free to contact me if you want more help :)
