In order to lose fat and not lose muscle you need to eliminate bad fats ,for example, saturated fats form your meals.

Then start consuming good fats like olive oil, flaxseed oil, walnut oil, wheat germ oil and borage oil. Without these fats, which are classified as Essential Fatty Acids your body STORES fat instead of converting it to glucose.
