Eating Plan Diet?

Postby ayesha » Tue Jan 05, 2010 4:17 pm

Hi everyone. I have watched this show for a long time now... and seem to miss what there diet plan is. I did the atkins diet a few years back, lost 20 lbs and have thankfully kept most of it off. I have another 25 lbs. to lose. I have been unsuccessful in that department. I can not do the atkins again. It is just too restricting. What do they do on the show? A low fat diet, count calories??? If someone could tell me that would be great. I would like to know what I need to do, or what number I need to stay under, as for fat or calories per day. Thank you in advance for you assistance. I need a buddy to help me take the weight off!

don't know if that's the right equation. I'm at 170, which means I would need to consume 1115 calories. That seems too low for my workouts.

on the show, I think the contestants average about 2500 calories per day based on the strenuous workouts. I think for everyday people like us, I think it should be between 1,300 to 1,500.

That seems like a better equation (multiply by 9) and would hit the mark for me.

If I took my GOAL weight that would be a lot less cal intake than my weight x 7.

Taken from ther million pound web site........

Aim to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. To do this, you need to burn 500 to 1,000 calories more than you consume each day through a low-calorie diet and regular exercise. Losing weight more rapidly means losing water weight or muscle tissue, rather than fat.

Daily calorie goal
Your current weight in pounds / Women / Men
250 or less 1,200 1,400
251 to 300 1,400 1,600
301 or more 1,600 1,800

The BL contestants count calories.

A friend of mine who is a professional trainer (and was a tv host on another show) gave me this, and it's been very helpful.

When losing weight, you take your goal weight and multiply it by 9, this will give you your approximate cals for the day to lose steadily.

So, my goal weight is 148, I'm shooting for 1300-1400 cals per day.

Hope this helps!

My current weight is 175 x7 =1225 cal
My goal weight 110 x9 = 990 cal

(I can stay right at 1250 or a little less, but 990 would be a butt kicker)
